If a wipe will fail or even freeze with the error "The WipeDrive Engine Stopped Responding" this might be related to the Secure erasure option being frozen.

When the software will boot, this should be shown as a 'flag' under 'flags' on the right side of the screen.

There is a workaround for issues like this. When the error/flag is shown, make below changes. You can do that by going to options/settings, which you can do on the client side, or if a bigger amount of the batch has the same issue, this can be changed in the PXE server or in the config file.

For the changes in the GUI:

Go to "Wipe Settings" and make sure the wipe pattern is set to NIST 3 passes (1) and all secure erasure options and Trim are tuned off (2)

If the changes are made in the config file, it will be the below settings to be changed.

dont-use-trim=true                    Note: Remove the # from this line

dont-use-secure-erase=true       Note: Remove the # from this line

wipe-level=O                             Note: it's O from Oscar
